On November 16, 2007 the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro highlighted the importance of empowering women to build healthier, better educated, more peaceful and more prosperous societies. She said, “Study after study has shown us that when women are fully empowered and engaged, all of society benefits...Only in this way can we successfully take on the enormous challenges confronting our world – from conflict resolution and peacebuilding to fighting AIDS and reaching all the other Millennium Development Goals."
The Marcella Project is committed to transforming women to be critical spiritual thinking and effective teaching of God's Word in order to create a relevant, valued, and enlightened spiritual community of empowered women not only in the United States but around the world. We want to play our part in empowering and equipping women who have often been marginalized and sidelined as a result of socio-cultural beliefs, political circumstances and traditionally patriarchal leadership systems that have excluded them. Therefore we will partner with other ministries who play a significant role in transformation of communities through leadership, economic development, and theological training of women.
