We Can Teach - Northern Indiana - May 2018

Jackie Roese developed and fine-tuned the She Can Teach course during her doctoral education under the tutelage of Dr. Haddon Robinson at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Jackie has been teaching She Can Teach for years to people from different demographics and denominations. The course is designed to be intimate and hands-on. While working in-community with each other, participants learn how to study, prepare and deliver a 20-minute message.

Jackie's primary calling is to equip females for the work of ministry so she designed a preaching class for women called She Can Teach to give women the skills and confidence they need to effectively proclaim God’s Word. But, as her secondary calling is to champion the cause of men and women partnering in Kingdom Work, she responded with an enthusiastic yes when she was asked to offer this training to both men and women at The Vine Church in Great Lakes Area.

    Is it for me?

    • You would like to teach but don’t know how to begin.
    • You teach the bible but have no training.
    • You have had some training but need further development.
    • You would like to fine-tune your skills.
    • You want to develop relationships with other women who teach.

      Strongly Encouraged Reading:

        Schedule:

Friday 5/25 7-9pm, Saturday 5/26 9am-5pm: The first part of the course is dedicated to teaching Bible study methods. Participants will learn how to observe, interpret and apply a biblical passage. Then they will begin practicing to find the main idea of a passage (the author’s original intent to the original audience). Once the main idea is found we discover how to take the ancient text to our modern-day audience.

IN BETWEEN: Over the next several weeks participants work on preparing their message. Each person has a date of completion for finding the main idea and an outline. They send messages to instructor via email for help & feedback. The full manuscript is sent to the instructor by a specified date. Again the instructor will review and work with the student until they is ready to deliver the message.

Friday 6/22 7-9pm, Saturday 6/23 9am-5pm: Participants teach their 20-minute message in front of the class. The teacher and classmates will give constructive feedback on delivery.

LOCATION: The Vine Church: 501 N Indiana Ave, Goshen, 46528

COST: $400 per participant (Registration requires a minimum payment of a non-refundable $100 deposit with the remaining $300 due the first evening of event.)
